Camp Freeland Leslie (CFL) is located near Oxford, Wisconsin, approximately 25 miles northeast of the Wisconsin Dells. The camp offers a variety of natural settings: pine forests, prairies, swamp, abundant wildlife and a beautiful lake entirely on the property. Lake Emerick is a unique natural resource and is one of the cleanest in Wisconsin. The camp was purchased by the former DuPage Area Council in 1970. Camp Freeland Leslie was first used as a summer camp in 1972.

Camp Freeland Leslie is a premier patrol method summer camp designed to help strengthen the patrols within your unit. The 500 acre property allows for a wide variety of Scouting opportunities sure to meet the interests of the newest camper as well as the experienced older Scouts in your unit. CFL offers a full complement of merit badges, outpost opportunities, first year camper program, a COPE course, high adventure programs and much more. One of the highlights of the summer camp program is the Friday night event featuring a camp wide pig roast.

Many new improvements to the facilities are constantly being made to improve Camp Freeland Leslie. A beautiful new nature center and lakefront observation deck was constructed for the 2005 camping season. Construction of a new shower facility is currently underway that will provide private and modern shower and restroom facilities for the summer campers. Other projects are planned for future years. If you have not been to CFL in a number of years you will be amazed at the many improvements to the facilities.

While the camp offers six weeks of Boy Scout Resident camp and two sessions of Webelos Resident Camp during the summer it is also available year round for unit camping. There are many beautiful campsites to choose from and the Deicke Visitors Center is available during the off season to be rented for unit outings. This modern building is complete with bunks, central heating, equipped kitchen, and indoor toilet/shower facilities. There are ski resorts in the area which makes this a popular base camp for many units during the winter.

A full time resident Ranger resides year round at camp to help support your stay. However, contact the Program Department at the Norris Service Center in St. Charles, IL (630-584-9250 Ext. 107) to inquire about availability and to make reservations.
