The Three Fires and Des Plaines Valley Councils have joined together for an historic and exciting project for their growth and the future of the Boy Scouts of America. The project - a joint Scout Adventure Camp, which represents a first in Scouting. The Councils have entered a joint venture to engage in the development and operations of a year round resident camp. As a foundation of Scouting, the Scout camp is of paramount importance in fostering and guiding youth development and growth to adulthood. The camping adventure is the heart of Scouting.

ADVENTURE CAMP UPDATE – OCTOBER 2011
Scouts & Scouters who visit Adventure Camp have been seeing a lot of new developments this summer. The camp development continues to progress. Vegetation is growing in & around Lake Gladys and the fish are becoming established.

The bath house is now a reality and in August the builders started working on the roof. Swimming should be a reality next year when the weather warms & the campers arrive. A lovely reflection area was built near on a small rise above the shoreline where people can sit & reflect while enjoying the view.

A lovely chainsaw carving of an Eagle is being carved by Tim Greiner to be placed at the trailhead for the new Trail to Eagle path that is being developed in the near future. Here are a few photos of these new improvements. Hope you enjoy them, & come & visit Adventure Camp soon!
