Three Fires Council

On Tuesday, June 24, 2008 the Three Fires Council held it's annual Oak Brook Distinguished Citizens Luncheon which honored Mary Ann Malloy, MD. The Distinguished Citizen Award is bestowed on individuals who have unselfishly dedicated themselves to community service & to the welfare & development of it's youth.

On Thursday, June 19, 2008 Three Fires Council held it's Annual Meeting followed by the Council Recognition Dinner at the Wyndham Hotel in Lisle. The dinner honored our 10 Silver Beaver recipients for the class of 2007. View photos of these two events in this album.

On Saturday, May 10, 2008, Three Fires Council held Scout-O-Rama at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. Thousands of Scouts and visitors enjoyed sampling Scout events and activities representing almost a century of Boy Scouting in the United States. View photos of this spectacular event here.

On May 1, 2008, Three Fires Council hosted the 2008 National Foundation Endowment Art Tour for the Central Region. This evening's gala celebration allowed the attendees to examine 20 of the priceless works of Norman Rockwell and Joseph Csatari, and recognized individuals through out the Central Region for their contributions to Scouting's Endowment Fund.

Outdoor Leader Skills & Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders courses were held April 2008 at Camp Big Timber, Elgin, IL. 80 participants & over 20 staff paricipated in these 2 trainings. Operation Cubscicle was held at Scenic Camp Big Timber's "Mountain Resort" on December 29, 07 & January 5, 08. Cub Scouts of all ages with their leaders and parents were able to enjoy a fun day filled with both indoor & outdoor winter events. View photos of the FUN here!

On November 10, 2007 "The Mystery Train" rolled into the Three Fires Council Station for a day filled with FUN, education, mystery & training. Over 120 courses for leaders were held, as well as Den Chief Training & OA Election Training for Scouts who wished to become trained for these positions. ALL ABOARD as we view photos of this event!

Chills, thrills, & scary fun! The 17th Annual Haunted Hike was held at Camp Big Timber in October 2007. Over $38,000 was raised to support our council camps and activities which are enjoyed by Scouts and Scouters alike.

Beautiful Lake Emrick which is maintained in it's natural state, is one of the cleanest lakes in Wisconsin. Owned since 1970, this camp is undergoing exciting new improvements. Adventure Camp is an exciting joint venture between DesPlaines Valley Council & Three Fires Council which will enable Scouts of all ages to enjoy year round camping as well as providing a wonderful summer program facility for Cub Scouts.
