Matching Gifts
Many employers/business will match their employees’ charitable contributions. For instance, if you give $500 to the Three Fires Council and your employer had this program, the Council would receive the benefit of $1000. If you are a contributor to the Three Fires Council, or are considering a contribution, please check with your employer to see if this program exists or if the employer might be interested in starting it.
To help with this we are asking that everyone write down their employer on the employer name line on the FOS Card. If you are not sure if your company offers a matching gift program we can follow up to try and secure more matching gift funds.
How do I get my gift matched?
Each company has its own guidelines for employees, spouses, retirees, and widows/widowers. Most corporate procedures are very simple:
- Request a Matching Form from your company, usually HR or payroll.
- Complete and submit the form to Three Fires Council with your gift.
- Three Fires Council will verify the completed form and return it to the company.
- The company issues a matching gift contribution to Three Fires Council.
Click here for a list of Matching Gift Companies. Please check with your companies HR Department if they are not listed here. Let us know if we should add your company.

Century Club FOS Challenge: Century Club Challenge - 2012 Friends of Scouting Help your District raise $10,000 with 100 gifts for our next century of Scouting. This opportunity will help your District Friends of Scouting Campaign as well as raise much needed funds to support Scouting this year. Help us instill a deeper appreciation for the important role Scouting will play in shaping our country’s future. With our Century Club Challenge we are seeking out businesses in the community that want to support Scouting’s mission to develop our youth.
Anyone who participates in the Century Club Challenge with a new gift of $100 or more will have their name or company name placed on a banner which will be displayed at Scout-O-Rama. This event is open to Scouter’s and donors at Cantigny Park on May 19, 2012. What better way to support Scouting and the community and be a part of a great event.
We encourage you to prospect and secure 5 new gifts in support of the Century Club Challenge (You can use the prospecting form). The purpose of this opportunity is to raise new money which will be used to support scouting programs in your community. With your help we can raise money for a worthy cause and make an investment in our future. Read More or dowload the Century Club Challenge Prospect Form
