Wilderness First Aid - Wilderness First Aid Course

The Emergency Care & Safety Institute will conduct a Wilderness First Course that will challenge you like no other. This weekend class provides information on how to handle common injuries and illness when medical care is an hour or more away.

Designed for Members of the Boy Scouts of America and for those who work or travel in remote locations.  This comprehensive class will teach
you what to look for and what to do in the event of an emergency, and direct you to the most appropriate type of care. Completion of this class will satisfy the BSA requirement for High Adventure outings.  Participants are required to have CPR Certification as a prerequisite for taking this class.   

When: Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 08:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 08:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  
Cost: $110.00 per person

The Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America  is pleased to be working with the National Safety Council to provide vital First Aid, CPR and AED training.

This award winning, interactive program is designed to give the student the knowledge and confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life.

With the National Safety Council’s First Aid, CPR, and AED online course, you can receive training at your convenience via the Internet. Using state-of-the-art animation, sound and graphics, this online course offers an engaging, interactive learning experience. Students learn first aid treatment for those who become suddenly ill or injured. Topics in

 

clude basic life support, bleeding and wound care, and treatment for shock, burns, and sudden illnesses such as diabetic emergencies, seizures, and stroke.

A bookmark feature allows you to exit the course at will and return to the course exactly where you left off as often as you like.

The National Safety Council's First Aid, CPR, and AED online program follows the latest CPR and first aid guidelines. The course content is continually reviewed and updated to reflect the latest first aid protocols.  The course is composed of three parts:
1.    Online learning.
2.    A 50 question post assessment.
3.    A hands-on skills testing session with an authorized NSC Skills Tester.
