The Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America is pleased to be working with the National Safety Council to provide vital First Aid, CPR and AED training.
This award winning, interactive program is designed to give the student the knowledge and confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life.
With the National Safety Council’s First Aid, CPR, and AED online course, you can receive training at your convenience via the Internet. Using state-of-the-art animation, sound and graphics, this online course offers an engaging, interactive learning experience. Students learn first aid treatment for those who become suddenly ill or injured. Topics include basic life support, bleeding and wound care, and treatment for shock, burns, and sudden illnesses such as diabetic emergencies, seizures, and stroke.
A bookmark feature allows you to exit the course at will and return to the course exactly where you left off as often as you like.
The National Safety Council's First Aid, CPR, and AED online program follows the latest CPR and first aid guidelines. The course content is continually reviewed and updated to reflect the latest first aid protocols. The course is composed of three parts:
1. Online learning.
2. A 50 question post assessment.
3. A hands-on skills testing session with an authorized NSC Skills Tester.

Wilderness First Aid Course
Whether you’re in the wilderness or an urban disaster, professional help can be delayed by hours or days. Will you know what to do? This is a comprehensive two day course geared to teach the necessary skills of evaluating and treating serious injuries and illness until professional help can be obtained.
WILDERNESS 1ST AID BASICS - American Red Cross
This weekend course will satisfy the Philmont requirement, (Have at least one person in the crew trained in Wilderness First Aid), for a crew to go on a trek at Philmont Scout Reservation.
Troop 107 in Naperville will be hosting a Red Cross Wilderness First Aid course on Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30, at Safety Town in Naperville (1320 Aurora Ave). This is a comprehensive two-day course geared to teach the necessary skills of evaluating and treating serious injuries and illness until professional help can be obtained. Completion of this class will satisfy the BSA requirement for high adventure outings. Current CPR certification is a prerequisite for taking the class. The class will meet from 8 AM to 5 PM on June 29 and from 8 AM to 4 PM on June 30. The fee is $110, which will go to the Red Cross. Both adult and Scout participants are welcome (Scouts must be a minimum of 14 years old on the date of the class).
