Basic Leader TrainingTraining and Awards for District and Council Volunteers BSA

Welcome to Scouting! As a Scout volunteer you are joining our Scouting family, and we want you to understand how the program works. The BSA is committed to your success as a volunteer while serving young people. To help you be successful there are training courses designed for each level of the program you are involved with. 

Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America Youth Protection Reporting Procedures for Volunteers.

The training courses needed to be considered trained for your position are listed below. To find a location where & when these courses are available, as well as fliers, registration forms or online registration, please visit the Training Events/Fliers Page of this website. 


      What Makes a Trained District or Council Volunteer?   Trained  

 Boy Scout Logo DISTRICT LEVEL VOLUNTEERS are considered trained when they have completed:

1. Youth Protection Training - Available in English or Spanish at MyScouting. This training is designed to allow you to create as safe an environment as possible for the Scouts in our program's activities.

2. District Committee Training Workshop - Held at the District or Council level. Attend the breakout applicable for your position.

or

Philmont Training Center - Attend the training specific to your leadership position out at beautiful Philmont Training Center in New Mexico.

There are also many enrichment courses available at THE ONLINE LEARNING CENTER.
